Cape Coral real estate was carefully chosen by the Rosen brothers in the late 1950s and officially became an incorporated city in 1970. The Rosen brothers were responsible for plotting out the city and creating its more than 400 miles of waterways. Their intense marketing to people living, not only in the immediate area, but also the surrounding states, helped get all 350,000 residential sites sold, helping Cape Coral become what is now the 11th largest populated city in the state of Florida.

Cape Coral public schools are serviced primarily by Lee County School District, which happens to be one of the largest school districts in the United States. There are 10 public elementary schools, eight public middle schools, five public high schools, three charter schools and 12 private schools providing education to residents of Cape Coral real estate.
